Scratch building RC planes is an alternative to purchasing store bought kits, which can be quite expensive. Building a plane from scratch and seeing it fly is very rewarding, especially when you know you spent a fraction of the cost of a manufactured kit. The aircraft on MikeysRC perform very well considering the kind of materials they are made out of and how simple the designs are. We show you step by step how to build the low cost fun flying RC planes!
All the following scratch built models were designed using standard foam board (aka foam core) from the local Walmart or craft store. It's light, easy to cut and glue, and is easily replaceable and easy to obtain and best of all, inexpensive. These following designs also work great with depron and other types of foam. We look forward to seeing all your build pictures and videos posted on our forum to share with others around the world.
